I have installed these around my mothers home. Now she can see what is happening in her yard all of the time. The motion notification has a little lag. The only real problem is the aesthetics of the cords. These have to be plugged in to power so the cord placement has to be addressed.

I want to put a Nest Cam Outdoor in the front of my doorway, but there is not outside plug. Will I be able to install the Nest Cam Outdoor, with an outdoor plug and use my Wifi?

So, these plug into any outdoor socket? My question would be, why wouldn't the intruders just unplug the camera? or do you have to drill through the wall and plug it in on the inside?
Just by approaching the camera the bad guys would be on video which is not stored on the camera. Yes it can just be unplugged but you will have video of them doing it. You can drill a hole through a wall to plug it into an electric outlet indoors. But if you do that why can't someone just walk up and smash the camera? Any camera outside can be compromised or simply covered.

Can this be used as a game camera for birds and can a still picture be taken from the video feed?
Remember these require an electric outlet. I actually have one pointed at an area that has the occasional turkey wandering by. As for the stills it will only make short video clips. You will need to pay for a nest account to have ten days or longer storage. I have never tried but once you save a clip of video you can probably pull a still from it in an outside application.
