No, I'm not kidding. There is a ridiculous number of pop-culture references in this movie. You're going to want to pause and play "Where's Waldo" to see how many characters you can even see, much less identify, ESPECIALLY during the big group scenes.
Honestly, I don't know how they managed to work out all the legal rights to allow these different characters to appear together. It must've been like Lawyer Thunderdome or something in there...
I also was surprised by the message they put out, that sometimes you just need to Exit the Matrix and get out into the real world once in a while.

So, here's the thing. I enjoyed the movie. I thought it admirably kept up the established notion that humanity doesn't respect the power of its own creations, and how that always ends badly for everyone who isn't a long-extinct oversized lizard.
That said...while I was watching it for the first time, I had a random thought pop into my head: "Did Steve Spielberg direct this?"
...And I didn't know! I honestly couldn't remember, but I didn't want to stop the movie to find out! Turns out, no he didn't, but the way this movie was directed, there were shots that seemed to come right out of the Spielberg playbook! And I've seen quite a few Spielberg movies in my time!
I honestly hope it was an intentional homage to Spielberg, like "Super 8" was. And I really liked that one, too!

Full disclosure? I haven't actually WATCHED any of these. YET.
I fully intend to, though. From the other reviews I've read about these movies, they're saying something worthwhile about violence in our society. And they don't glorify the violence or turn it into torture-smut, unlike the SAW movies, which I gave up on a long time ago.

I'm calling it -- this is the best show on Adult Swim.
Hysterically funny, wildly imaginative, deeply insane, and not at all afraid to take risks and get REALLY REAL. Any show that can end its 2nd season with "Hurt" by Nine Inch Nails to full, devastating effect gets my vote. Watch it and you'll see what I mean.
Rick Sanchez is the ultimate mad scientist, like a totally unhinged Doctor Who, or Doc Brown from Back to the Future, and his grandson Morty is his own personal crash test dummy/wet noodle. These two will go anywhere, do anything, and destroy everything for the most messed up reasons imaginable. It keeps you guessing, that's for sure.

After being disappointed by SMALLVILLE, I had low hopes for this one. And I was more than pleasantly surprised!
By telling the story of Superman's grandfather, Seg-El (as in Jerry Seigel; very clever, show), everything is available. The show has nothing but fertile ground to plow, and they're plowing away.
I'm also enjoying the Game of Thrones influence, what with the politics of ancient Krypton. And the fact that Seg-El's grandfather, Val-El, is played by Ian McElhinney, the same actor who played Barristan Selmy on that show, is just the icing on the cake.
Cameron Cuffe, the actor who plays Seg-El himself, definitely has my attention. Even if he isn't actually playing Kal-El himself, he really makes you believe that the House of El would produce the world's greatest hero.

No, I'm not kidding. This was for my nephew. I'm not a PS4 gamer, or even a console player. I'm a PC gamer from way back; that's why this review is only 4 stars instead of 5.
The complete second season of the HBO sci-fi series set in a Wild West theme park filled with artificial beings discovering that the world around them isn't what it appears to be.

I really enjoyed the first season, but this one blew my mind. If I didn't know better, I'd think this was the end of the show, given how apocalyptic the ending is. But no, it seems these violent delights haven't met their violent ends yet...

I've loved this show ever since it began. Great blend of sci-fi and hard science, like Babylon 5 back in the day. I'm going to miss it when it moves to Amazon, but that's what these collections are for.
My only gripe -- why no digital copy for this season? They had it for the other two...

So i can connect the firestick to any tv or does it have to be a Roku tv? Will it control the cable channels?
It doesn't have to be a Roku TV. But it does have to have an HDMI port, and maybe a USB port for power as well. If your TV doesn't have a USB, there should be a plug with a USB converter for a standard, wall-mounted power outlet.
