This device is just awesome. The screen is beautiful. VRR on a handheld is an absolute game changer.
I personally love having Windows 11 on a handheld and the flexibility that it allows is unparalleled. Games run smooth and I can install them from Xbox, Steam, Epic, etc. Anywhere you’d install from on a desktop PC. And honestly, it runs games really well, too! There are some sites that give the best settings for games and I highly recommend checking them out. They help a lot.
The major flaws that I’ve encountered are one that’s very commonplace and one that seems to have just happened to me. There’s a very high chance that your SD card reader will get fried and stop functioning—along with any SD card that’s in it. This may or may not have been fixed, though it’s unlikely. It’s just very unfortunately located in an area of the device that gets way too hot.
The other issue for me was that my first unit had a cracked open shell brand new out of the box. I guess the backplate was warped and quality control isn’t great so they shipped it out anyway. After exchanging it, I got a unit without the issue.
All in all, I’d say that this is the best gaming handheld. Stick with the Z1 Extreme and enjoy the power in your hands!

It isn’t finicky with placement of their iPhone 12 Pro Max and more importantly the little charging indicator light only comes on briefly and then doesn’t light up a dark room like so many other annoying chargers. And it actually comes with the power supply—which should be a given—but is exceedingly rare nowadays with greedy companies.
