1932 "RAIN" IS SEXY & DISTURBING , EVEN IN 2022

What a stunning clear print for a film made 90 years ago. By today's standards, RAIN is mild, compared to how audiences may have reacted to in 1932, even prior to the production code. Joan Crawford portrayal of the downfallen Sadie Thompson, was convincing. I remember the same for Rita Hayworth's portrayao of Sadie in the color 3D MISS SADIE THOMPSON. Add the sinister portrayal of the forsaken redeemer, played by the brilliant Walter Houston, and you have a masterful portrayal of sensuality and corrupt religiousness. It may be rated PG by today's standards, but RAIN is still one masterpiece of cinema both with great acting and cinematography. It's worth watching!!!

Miss Harris Goes to Paris may not be a masterpiece of cinema, but it is masterful fairy tale to delight the harshest heart and harshest soul. To label this curiously remarkable film different is REALLY DIFFERENT. I see it as a story about an unfortunately unlucky father juggling his children between visits. He's a loving and caring father, but his judgement is flawed. He makes honest mistakes, makes unhealthy decisions, get arrested, is always at odd with his wife who threatens full custody. This independent film works and doesn't work, but it is worthy of watching. There seems to never be an end to domestic problems.
