Both Sound and Mic don't work on my laptop

Quite disappointed that this headphones doesn't work with my laptop. I understand some people claim the Mic doesn't work on computers, but I can't even make the sound to work.
The sound is sharp and clear when I tried in on Kindle Fire though.
