Best Mario game in some time!

While I haven't beaten the game yet I've played more than enough to feel confident in my review. For me, this game is the best Mario game since Mario 64! Sunshine was fun too, and the Galaxy games were ok...but more me, Odyssey outshines all three.
Do note, that to get the "full experience", Nintendo wants you to play with the joy-cons detached (so, one in each hand) and for anyone with bigger hands than a child this could potentially cause some discomfort. I've been enjoying it mostly with my pro-controller just fine though.

Amazing game but ultimately a rehash

I felt I had to give this game four stars based on the fact that at the end of the day it's still a port from the Wii U, so if you played that version and bought the DLC then you've played this. If it had been released at a discount I could excuse that, but it was released at full price.
As for the actual game itself, it's amazing and I'd highly recommend it. Just don't waste your money on the Wheels (I reviewed those as well)...

Nintendo does it again!

After the flop that was the Wii U, and the huge success before that was the Wii...Nintendo has done it again! They took a simple concept (a dockable console that's both portable and looks great on modern 4k TV's) and executed it extremely well.
Basically, if you love Nintendo, you'll love this. It's not without it's flaws, but in the grand scheme of things there's nothing really even worth mentioning...I will anyway though. The biggest flaw for me personally is they took away the "Virtual Console" and now require a monthly subscription to access a small selection of retro games.
Another potential flaw is that the default controllers (Joy-Cons) are EXTREMELY tiny, even while houses in the controller unit provided with the console. I have big hands and using the joy-cons is almost pointless. Their joysticks are also a little on the short side and in turn make aiming an adjustment to get used to. I'd highly recommend getting the Pro Controller or another 3rd part traditional controller if you're more of a "serious" gamer.
At the end of the day these flaws don't detract from the experience that is the Switch though and this is easily one of the best "full family" consoles of all time!

Amazing controller with one downside...

I struggled giving this five stars because it does have one pretty glaring flaw, but let me talk about the positives first. The overall feel of this controller is amazing and it comes second to only the XBox One for my favorite controller of all time. Super responsive, comfortable for bigger hands, great batter life (might have the best better life of any controller, ever)...can't ask for much more.
Only negative is the rumble is so weak I wondered if I had a defective model. In fact I almost took it back before looking online and seeing that's just how it is. I could also add in the price as a negative, definitely watch for this on sale.
Overall though I feel like the positives far outweigh the negatives and I highly recommend it.

These are much smaller than the Wii/Wii U wheels and I've also found that the controllers often don't sit in the properly either without some trial and error. Thought maybe they were just still from being new but after many uses they still just don't work that great. We're at the point now where we don't even use them anymore.
