How do I simplify this, it is still fire emblem with characters and grind included.
It has a time management system akin to the atelier series and pretends to branch the game direction based on your dialogue options.
That's a lie they try to sell you. Virtually all of your dialogue options are without consequence, as you gain favor in support ranks must faster through often coincidental battle placements and constant instruction.
The support dialogues are also(for all but the more eccentric characters) very uninspired and cliche.
The three houses represent the three classes you can teach, but it makes no difference seeing as long as your character has high enough stats(that he naturally gains quickly) he can recruit absolutely anyone AND everyone outside of his house regardless.
The only time your dialogue matters is for a huge faction shift halfway through the game, which the method of doing so is made so obtuse, unless you were trying to consistently butter up one character in the beginning, especially since there's a 66% chance you'll never interact with her across all playthroughs.
Mechanically the game isn't hard. Classic mode is the only artificial difficulty and map design is bland, open, and repetitive ad nauseum. I auto-battled the grind so hard because of how boring the battles were. Even the story missions are on preset maps.
The only difficult fight in the game is the final boss and only because of how high the hp is and how many mid-bosses slog and crowd the path to it.
Get this game on sale before Nintendo tries to sell you an "authentic" Fire Emblem experience(read:copy-and-paste).

The movie goes in quite a few tried and true directions as far as genres go, and wraps as you might expect it to.
The good thing is that a few characters make "incorrect" choices and leave the film with hope for a few plot trails left open to be explored in later films.

Imagine if they made a move about visiting Bill's house in RBY wrote a whole story about it. That's this movie, it's more of light-hearted take of people living alongside pokemon and just got over it like nothing happened, resuming monotonous lives.
It lacks most of the elements of the games
and feels like it's treading a line not to inundate people outside the fandom with exposition or uninformed in-references.

Imagine the humans were more involved than the elephant. That is this movie. Dumbo probably assumes %25 of this movie by the end of it. All of the plot threads tie are left dangling until the final act and are resolved in about 10 minutes flat. The rest of the runtime is bloated scriptwriting for characters that effectively do no more than dumbo at flapping his ears.

It doesn't have robust or branching skill tree of fighting like Yakuza 0 or the food exp system like the Kiwami.
The art style is definitely lighter in tone but the game world and locations are noticeably shallower in both depth and detail.
The voice acting, that is the english dub, is fine when it pops up. The problem is that only does 25% of the time. Outside of Main Story cutscenes, there is no dub or it is found piecemeal and jarred between different lines of opposite characters.
There is literally a scene where you solve a case for TWINS SITTING NEXT TO EACHOTHER and one of them speaks perfect english and the speaks completely in japanese in front of the player character who also speaking english.
There is another scene where there is a Musician who greets her audience IN ENGLISH and then proceeds to sing entirely in the japanese dub, returning to english after.
There are too many examples of this.
SEGA wants people to believe they didn't cheap out on the dub by hiring union va's but the reality is that they cut corners literally EVERYWHERE ELSE.
To add, I'm talking about both branches of SEGA who worked in tandem to decide these choices especially seeing that they chose in the past to digitally edit out several of their 3D models to erase the likeness of an individual associated with criminal activity, in a game series about YAKUZA and DETECTIVES.
That takes more time and money out of their profits after the fact than finishing the dub properly. They were even deceptive enough to toss a survey in the direction of all current owners of the game asking if the dub was passable in a thinly veiled series of questions to excuse not paying for a dub in the future most likely.

What more can be said than sequelitis. Its fun but not as poignant as the first. It tries to flesh out character dynamics and add new ones but in the end nothing makes the film feel more fresh than the first which is a tall order in itself.
