What can you say? If you’re familiar with the Firesticks it’s a step up from the regular 4K stick. More storage, faster processor, and a better remote. Easy to setup. Unlike Roku’s, the Firesticks allow 3rd party apps to be side loaded that aren’t available from Amazon’s AppStore. Get one when they’re on sale.

The U8 is one impressive tv! Had it for a few weeks now. Colors are deep and vibrant. Off axis viewing is virtually the same as straight on viewing. The Google interface is easy to navigate, and the remote is laid out well, and is also back lit. A great feature for a dark room viewing experience. Built in multi speakers, w sub sounds very good, although we use the tv in a home theater setup, so don’t have the built in speakers activated. We have an LG Oled in another family room and honestly the U8 compares very closely. The U8 is one the brightest TVs w nits close to 5000! Great for rooms with a lot of light. Not to mention the huge difference in $ compared to what a Oled costs. The U8 also comes with a 2 year warranty which is pretty rare with most other brands. If you search best TVs for 2025, the U8 is listed on most quality testers lists Highly recommended!

If you’re looking for an upgrade to a streaming device, these FIre Cubes are an excellent choice. Way more internal storage, and better processor for faster download speeds. You can use the Alexa feature to do many of the normal multiple click operations. Setup is very easy. It basically walks you thru the setup. Yes, they are more expensive, but if you’re serious about cutting the cord, and want the best option available, these are a great choice. Like with any streaming device, you need a decent WiFi download speed/provider to have the best performance.

Denon AV -X3700H receiver

Purchased the Denon X3700 a few weeks ago. Setup was amazingly easy with the guided on-screen menu. Connection to WiFi was a breeze, but ended up doing a wired Ethernet connection as the receiver is a ways from the router. Installed the current firmware and was ready to go! I’m running an 11.2 Atmos setup with an outboard NAD power amp for front L/R speakers. The amp will power 9 channels on its own, but if you want to run 11 ch you’ll need to use an extra amp or an old receiver would work too. Sound is excellent! Clean, punchy, and immersive. I downloaded the Denon remote app to my phone, and it is very useful for changing levels, surround modes, etc. Also the Audyssey setup works great for getting the speakers adjusted for your personal room acoustics. Very pleased with this receiver, and would recommend it with no reservations.
