Disappointing Release & Prematurely Canceled

Zoo the Series is disappointing for two reasons: [2] Paramount abandoned the Blu-ray format from Season 1 (of course, never expect full series/seasons on Blu-ray to last unless it's for certain shows like Supernatural. [2] Canceled too soon (of course, viewership and costs affect decisions). So what we have are decent quality episodes when you can find better video quality on Netflix (I never could have believed I would say that being a physical media supporter).

Halloween 4K scary upgrade

Should you upgrade to 4K if you have the excellent boxed set? If you're a true fan, probably. The 4K upgrade is good in some places. It's not going to "wow" you but you can see subtle differences. The audio is good (the 5.1 track is well-designed; the mono does sound a bit flat). Controversy will surround the Blu-ray disc as it's the one that fans cried foul on due to the color timing. If you have the boxed set, ignore this disc. Overall, a pretty good upgrade and get it on sale.

This Christmas episode is not as intense or suspenseful as some of the TV episodes can be. It's a nice story of indigenous people and their plight with a murder thrown in. The Christmas aspect is toned down a little. We do get to see how the Ponzi scheme came to be and the poor Brackenreids must find a way out of it. The extras are slim but enjoyable. The A/V quality is what you'd expect for an Acorn Media Blu-ray: Good.

The audio/video quality is good, but not demo-worthy material. There is no audio upgrade to Atmos so it's the same DTS-HD MA 5.1 track as the Blu-rays. You also do NOT get the bonus disc extras on the Trilogy Blu-rays so keep those. At least the X-MEN 1.5 extras are on here.

The continuing hilarious exploits of the modem family that doesn't disappoint if you're this far into the series, you know what to expect. My only gripe is that the 480p DVD quality looks pale in comparison to Blu-ray which Fox stopped releasing this series on. Gone are the episode synopses as well, just titles to save space (could have put descriptions on the cover backside. Still recommended though.

A great slow burn thriller about a young naive FBI agent who travels to freezing Wyoming to investigate a homicide near Indian reservation land with the help of a hardened Fish and Wildlife officer who has a tragic past. The bleak cinematography perfectly complements the adept direction and solid acting especially from Renner. Audio and video quality are top notch and the extras are on the light side, some video interviews mostly with scene clips.

If you're a fan you might have bought individual seasons and then found out this beautiful boxes set was going to be released. Each season keepcase fits your nside a sturdy box with a separate top cover. There are no extra inserts or booklets. A great looking box for a great show!
