Another good anime from Makoto Shinkai

Shinkai's "Your Name" was a masterpiece and this movie is almost as good. The plot is based on the premise that Tokyo is being constantly rained on which is causing the city to sink as the sea level rises. A girl has the ability to stop the rain momentarily but at what cost?
The graphics is state-of-art but the plot line is a bit weak which makes this movie not as good as "Your Name

Classic anime

This is one of the best classic anime ever. While the art is no longer considered state of art, it was considered one back when it was released. The plot is terrific and the music is outstanding. This movie was re-released as GITS 2.0 which tried to used CG but it failed miserably as it did not mate well with the scenes without CG.
My only misgivings is that the subtitles need some updating as the translation seems outdated. The 4K transfer offers a little more dynamic range but the transfer is still outstanding.

You should not be using this player for MP3 music. It is designed for use with either FLAC or any other lossless music format. I actually prefer the previous Sony player which uses "hard" buttons iso a touch screen which shortens the battery life. While Sony gives a pretty impressive battery life, using lossless audio files and Bluetooth enabled, the player will only last several hours before the battery goes out.
Since it is designed for Hi-Res, the sound is quite good but you will need an accompanying high quality headphones to get the most out of it. The power output is pretty meager, so you will not be able to drive the sound too loud.

This NAS drive has been pretty reliable, but they seem to fail once the warranty expires after three years. This model has been replaced by an newer Red drive, the WD40EFAX which uses SMR technology, this drive uses CMR technology. While WD does not state it, you CANNOT mix CMR and SMR in a drive array as it will cause errors. The SMR drive also takes a lot longer to rebuild in an array.
Unfortunately, if you want to buy a CMR drive you will now to buy the Red Pro line of NAS Drives.

Let me make one thing clear. Do NOT buy any Seagate drive. I bought a couple of 2TB slim-line drives and they failed after a couple of months. Online reviews show how bad the Seagates really are which the heads scoring the platters pretty quickly, ruiing the data.
This WD drive is dirt cheap, it was $109 for 5TB. I have yet to have any issues with any of my external WD drives (this is my fourth one). My only gripe this that the supplied USB 3.0 cable is pretty short, about 12-inches.

The Arlo package comes with a set of magnetic and bolt on mounts. The four camera set i got had two of each mounts. While the magnetic mounts are fine for indoor use, they should not be used outdoors.

A pretty good home security system

I went with the Arlo because my current alarm system had to be replaced. The new alarm had a monthly monitoring fee of $65 which was pretty expensive. Once nice feature is that the alarm system had window sensors, movements sensors as well as being able to work even when the AC power was down.
The Arlo is a decent surveillance system. With a large property, it was cheaper for me to buy two complete systems as I needed eight cameras. The cameras have a decent resolution (3K) but its range is pretty limited to about 20-30 feet as the sensor does not do so well after that, so i needed overlapping coverage.
I still have to fine-tune the sensitivity as it keeps giving false alerts. When one camera is triggered, I can program to have adjacent cameras activate at the same time to observe the area. I can also have all the cameras turn on the sirens when one is triggered. Still, with eight sirens sounding off, the system is pretty soft. Recharging the batteries requires you to remove the camera from the mount so you can remove the battery from the camera housing. This means you have to realign the camera after recharging. The package comes with two magnetic and two flimsy screw in mounts, I ended up buying the optional Arlo mounts which are more substantial.

The MSi Gaming Pro Carbon is a nice looking board with great features with one fatal flaw. The board utilizes a 4+2 voltage regulator design which is insufficient for the latest high (95+) wattage AMD Ryzen CPUs. Better boards have as much asa a 14+2 VRM deisgn (such as MSi's top boards). MSi cut corners here and it shows when the board is pushed under load.
When running under load, the voltage regulators will run a steady 95 degrees, extremely high where some other brands run only 65-75 degrees C. If you are using a 65 watt or lower Ryzen CPU, this should not pose a problem.
If you are looking to use a AMD 3900X or any CPU that draws 95 watts or more, I would look elsewhere, especially if you want to overclock the CPU. The motherboard will cause the CPU to thermal throttle, e.g. slow down until the temps go down.

If you are planning to buy this mobo for a 65-watt CPU, fine... Avoid this if you are planning to buy this motherboard for any 105-watt AMD CPU (3800x/3900x/3950x). The power supply design cannot supply the current required for those CPUs. The voltage regulators will overheat, hitting 100-120 degrees C. When this happens, t he board will throttle the CPU speed down until the VRs cool down. When the VR temps rise again, the process will repeat itself.
MSi really screwed up the board design on all of the MPG lineup of X570 motherboards. All of them have terrible VR designs causing the to overheat. I have one and it really sucks. Better boards will only hit temps of 60-70 degrees.

Yes, as long as it is not a laptop... You cannot enter a boot password as the keyboard will not be active until the OS is loaded.

I just hooked up the Sony SS-CS5 to my sony fm stereo fm-am receiver str-de415 and i got audio from my record player - do I still need an amplifier to get better sound?
I don't know if the receiver has a phono input. If it does not (and if the turntable does not have a built-in phono pre-amp), you cannot hear the sound correctly.

I have a sony receiver, can i get atmos sound if i do not have a 4 k tv. Would i be able to rent a movie on vudu and get the atmos sound? With this blu ray I know it has just a audio hook up and a video hook up separate. Could i just hook up the audio?
You will need UHD movies as ATMOS is rarely pressed on Blu-Ray discs. Also, to get ATMOS, you will need a sound system that supports it. The TV has nothing to do with it.
