The drive is good and a good option for mobile backup.
The android software is not brilliant but does the work.
The material quality is amazing.

The double connection is good idea but the way to open and close it is not very clean and move from one side to another.
The speed is ok, around what is publish.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The product is limited by the apps that works with the Chromecast, but if you want a dongle to connect to you TV and you are in an either Android or Chrome environment that is a very good budget product to have.

If I bring this flash drive on a road trip, can I charge it by plugging it straight into the car's USB port? Or into a portable battery bank I have and still use the wireless capabilities on it? And speaking of which how's the battery life?

you can charged in a normal charger. If you use the usb port from the car will depend on the power that you can obtain and if you are using it at the moment.
About battery life, i did not tested comepletely, I use and charge time to time.

HDMI with female ports for audio R-L

My TV has 2 female ports in the HDMI. Is there any cable with male port in one side and in the other side,a USB connector for the Chromecast
No as per standard for the use that Chromecast requires, but you could use the the power adapter to the USB.
The USB in chromecast it is only to supply power.
