This is a great series. This season was the only season I had not seen and I needed to watch it before season six came out. Good price on season package.

Not so user friendly as my non touchscreen and have to put on charge daily so the benefit of having a remote is taken away. Make sure an outlet is where you normally use your remote.

I have been buying Onkyo for 25 years now. Easy set up, user friendly and great sound system. My first Onkyo receiver is still in use. This one is producing the high quality sound that my husband needed in his man cave for those action movies. PS3, Directv and Kaoroke system are all hooked up to the receiver and then the receiver is connected to the t.v.

Does it work with Blu-Ray

Will this work with a Samsung Blu-Ray, Direct TV, and a Samsung TV
Yes. That is what I have plus a Yamaha receiver and it controls all of them.

Is the hub required for the remote to fully function and operate devices?

No the charging base only operates as a charger for the remote. You do have to return your remote to the charging base almost daily which for me is not convenient.
