My husband and I team up to scan old photos. Depending on size you can lay as many as 6 photos on the scanner and it takes them in as separate photos. Just have to leave a little space between them. You can touch up the brightness if you need to. Now that we have used it for a couple of weeks (lots of photos to scan), I am going to spend time checking other options or if my photo storage program can help 'fix' photos that are old and faded. Plan to make DVD for the kids as part of their Christmas gift.

Can I scan more than one photo at a time, am I able to scan to a DVD or memory card?
Yes, We scanned 4-6 at a time depending on their size. But you have to have some space between them. They are then scanned as individual entries. Yes you could put a portable DVD to it, but you may want to take time to label your pictures like we did.

Can you scan 4 or 5 small photos at the same time?
Will each photo be made into an individual file?
YES!!! It is great, just leave a little space between the photos - no touching. We have done as many as 6 depending on the size of the photos. Love it.

Windows 8.1
Is this scanner compatible with 64bit Windows 8.1? My old Epson scanner doesn't have a 64bit driver or I would still be using it.
Yes that is what we have and it works.

Does this Perfection V550 scanner by Epson work with Windows 7 - 64bit ?
I have a Canoscan 3000EX scanner. No driver exists to run this scanner on Windows 7 -64bit. They refuse to provide one. So, I'm dumping Canon immediately. Will this scanner work with Windows 7 - 64 bit ( as opposed to Windows 7 - 32 bit ) ???
It works well with Windows 8.1 64 bit and I believe I saw Windows 7 as an option as well.

Does this AUTOMATICALLY separate multiple pictures that are scanned at once? Or do you have to do something after you scan multipile pics on scan bed
Yes it does separate them. Just be sure to have a little space between each picture. We put as many as 6 photos (depending on their size) on the scanner. Have fun.
