Excellent purchase - saving $15 a month for modem rental. Also, has plenty of room for extreme speed as the cable providers increase the speed of our internet! Cable providers support it & I am extremely pleased. The quality of this modem seems to be far superior to those rented from the cable providers. Was up & running in 15 minutes! Thank you Best Buy!

I liked the laptop but the extra wide trackpad was always getting in the way. While typing if your hand touches the extra wide trackpad, your curser moves & your document can be destroyed. To the point that undo does not work. I had to return the laptop due to this fact. The trackpad is rather useless due to it's size & sensitive.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

my small one man ofice has concast equipment and my router is shot. The modem is comcasts - so i have this router I will bring in and hope to hook up. Will it connect and work?
It will work but if you are needing high speeds wirelessly look for a dual channel router instead

Check with your internet provider - they usually show the modems they support on their web site - or just google it.

I have a linksys ea6350 and I am buying a motorola arris surfboard 600 series
will I be able to run 2 HP laptops, a portable scanner, a brother mfc J870, a Samsung 60" plasma, a Samsung soundbar, a Samsung bluray dvd player, a roku3, and stream movies all at the same time, depending on the internet service? And how much Mbps will I need? Can the Linksys & Motorola handle all this? And would I hook all this up with a cable into house, then to modem, then to router, then to Ethernet, HDMI, & USB I think I have it down, but new to this networking. --Joe S.
The Linksys can handle all of this wirelessly if you have sufficient bandwidth & using a N or AB network connection. If you want to run RJ 45 cables, then get a switch with 8 or 12 ports which is available at Best Buy.

Ilooking for internet/voice modem compatible with comcast
I have Comcast internet/voice modem which I pay $10/month. I want to buy my own. Do you have one?
There are no modems that you can buy that will bring the Comcast voice through it. This is Comcadt proprietary. However, you can add a VOIP converter & get a number from Google Voice for free & create your own home phone with no monthly charge for all calls in the USA. Google VOIP converter & buy it from Best Buy.

is this product compatatable with high speed fiber optic internet?
I currently have time warner road runner and sick of paying the monthly rental fee. this seems like the right choice for that but what if I upgrade to fiber optic internet services? will this modem still serve its purpose or even be needed?
There is no fiber connection on this modem. Check with your cable provider.

Is this modem compatible with Mediacom cable?
Yes, but check with your cable provider to make sure they still support it
