Don't have smart TV, but Chrome is very easy and friendly to use.. My 3 year old kid use it to cast youtube and netflix.

I'm set up but i can't connect to my Mac laptop

i believe that for Mac or PC you need to cast using the Chrome browser.
Downlad the browser, the get then add-on at the chrome web store.
