The Fitbit One works very well at capturing your steps. I previously had the Zip, and wasn't pleased. The Fitbit one is fairly accurate. The only bad thing is that after about 1 month the plastic end kept falling off which exposes the metal clip. I finally lost the plastic cap for good. This doesn't affect the device itself. I just clip it so the metal isn't next to my skin.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I don't have a computer. I have iPhone & iPad mini. How would I charge the one if can not plug into a computer?

The charging cord has a USB on 1 end and the plug for the Fitbit on the other end. If you have a USB charging brick that plugs into a wall outlet you could charge it that way. I actually use my radio/clock that has a USB port as well.
