Very easy and simple setup. Excellent sound quality, especially considering the game sound and voice is coming entirely from the controller. They are very comfortable to wear for extended periods. The balance between voice and game sounds seems a little off, and the volume controls are not very "fine" tunable, but I put the blame for that on Microsoft's headset adapter.
I would recommend this to a friend!

How is this powered?

Battery, direct to system/outlet or rechargeable
This headset does not require a power source. It works like a traditional set of headphones that you would plug into an iPod or iPhone. All the sound generation is performed in the game controller and sent through the cable to the headset.
