My wife says it was easy to assemble, but does require two people to slide in the glass and place TV on the upright brace. The unit appears sturdy. We wanted something functional to go with a modern loft look and yet not be the focus in the room for our lake front condo. Mission accomplished.

Does the mount attach to the wall only or to both the wall as well as the tv?

We mounted the upright bracket to the stand and then mounted the TV to the bracket. Nothing is mounted on the wall.
