I have a whole house audio system and wanted to add a subwoofer in my hearth room / kitchen area, but a wired solution wasn't an option. I used this product to get signal to the subwoofer wirelessly. I plugged the transmitter into the amp/receiver for the whole house system in my audio closet, and plugged the other end into the subwoofer (one floor apart), and it worked perfectly. Just like that. Have been enjoying deep, rich music with no issues ever since. I saw others reviews about needing to resync the devices but I haven't had to that once. I was also concerned there might be a delay and cause things to sound terrible but there's no delay at all and the bass makes the music sound so much better. For the price and simplicity, this is an excellent option.

Does the unit transmit through walls?

I want to place my components in a closed and want to run the sub wirelessly. Does it transmit through walls?
Yes, I have mine installed in a closet/cabinet in the basement and the sub is one floor up in the living room. Haven't had any issues.

Will it work with an older receiver

I have the Onkyo TX SR805 that is 8 years old and has no Wi Fi capabilities.
Yes, it will work. The wireless signal in this case is between the transmitter and the other end that gets attached to your sub. Your receiver/amp does not need wifi capability.
