Lifeproof iphone 5 fix?

Hi, I was watching reviews on the lifeproof case and heard of problems. Then I heard that Lifeproof made a new gen on the case. The problems I heard of were the rainbow effect, the big gap between screen and plastic, and the sound issues. Are these fixed?
My whole family has used them and never had a problem from the iphone 4-6.
