I had just finished building my new desktop PC when I noticed that this SSD was on sale. So, I purchased it to take advantage of Best Buy's Christmas extended return policy.
I did a clean install of Windows 10 Home. I made this SSD my boot drive and all of the necessary drivers where installed. I then opened the SanDisk Dashboard and updated the firmware. Everything went smooth as silk.
My assessment, you will be very pleased as am I.

i am in the process of building a new desktop PC. I weighed the difference between an SSD and a HD 7200 RPM, 64 GB cashe. SSD had 500 GB and HD had 1000 GB. SSD cost $300 to $400 and the HD cost $49 with discount. This HD is fast and has twice the storage, so I chose the HD.

I really like my Kodak 2170 series printer, but the ink cartridges don't last very long. I don't do a lot of printing, but it seems I am always purchasing ink. The colors are very bright and the blacks are very black.

I am not sure about that as I am not familiar with that machine. However, I can tell you that it does not include the cloning SW, but there are plenty of free options on line. Just do a search.

Can I use this as a secondary drive or do I need to completely remove my 1TB HDD?
All I want this SSD for is to boot my Steam games, from what I've heard, it is possible to do so without having to install a whole new Windows OEM. I'd just like to know if it's possible with this SSD, thank you in advance.
I don't know way not. I did just the opposite. I made the SSD the boot drive and games and other programs on the HHD. So, your plan should work. Just make sure during installing your games you tell PC to install it on the SSD.

Is this compatible with on a 2010 Macbook Pro 15?
I have a 2010 Macbook Pro 15 running Yosemite. I would like to replace the existing drive with this. Will it fit in the bay? Thanks for any advice.
I am quite sure that it will. I put a Samsung 250 GB SSD in my MacBook without a problem. The SanDisk is the standard size SSD. Give it a try. You have at least 2 weeks to return if it does not fit.

Once the hdd is purchased how does one go about getting the Acronis True Image cloning software? Is this a trial only offer for Acronis software?
Just go to the Acronis website and search for the free WD version. Download and install.

Yes. 16 GB is recommended size. That is how I use mine.
