I have been trying to find a cost efficient way to connect my laptop and phone to the TV without have to get a new DVD player (which I never use) sip I could stream Netflix and Pandora. This is perfect. No real bells or whistles but it does what it says and it does it well. I can use my phone and steam music and I can send the music to one room or the other and it automatically turns on the TV (my newer one) so I don't have to go searching for the remote. If you don't want to do everything on your TV and you want basic Google access, this is great, anything further is hard to get to work.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Can Chromecast project Google Hangouts

We want to do video and web conferencing in our Office. Are we able to do that with Chromecast?
Not from a phone, but a quick Google search shows that people have found ways to do Hangouts through a laptop/desktop. "The Simplest Ways to Chromecast your Hangouts" from "Make Use Off" has an article.

What if both HMDI slots are already taken? :-(

Must this go in the HDMI slot? I have Comcast, which takes up one HDMI, then Roku-which is taking up the other HDMI. I'm thinking of trying Chromecast-which appears to take HMDI (Hence the name! LOL!) My TV has only two HMDI slots, so is there anything I cn do?
You'll need something like the Rocketfish 4-HDMI selector

can this be used on any regular laptop?

I have a toshiba laptop i recently purchased. would this work on the toshiba?
As far as I know, it works with any computer that has Google Chrome and the Chromecast add-on. I've connected three different laptops to it from time to time and they all work fine.
