What's great about it: Setup very quickly and it's very easy to figure out how to navigate it
What's not so great: Nothing
The Belkin router is a very good choice for someone who is not computer savvy. It is very easy to use and the on screen instructions are very simple to follow, it even has a mode which will fix itself, which comes in very handy.
The only thing that I can see is a problem is the range of reception you get, in a larger one story home, I feel this is mainly due to lack of external antennas. But overall I really like the router and I intend on keeping it.

You need to get a SATA/SERIAL to USB transfer cable this will come with a power cord to power your drive as well as an interface to plug into your hard drive and then plug into a USB port on your new computer

Any of the major brand USB a any of the major brand USB adapters are good , Just make sure that it is dual band . And if you plan on using AC Technology and make sure you get one that is compliant with that as well

I would like to use a Powerline network. Any recommendations?
Powerline networks work very well, however you want to use that one's better as close to being on the same circuit as possible, but I'm not See too much of a difference between a powerline set up and plugging it directly into the router
