Full Disclosure I bought this as a Deal of the Day at 19.99. I have had larger and much more expensive BAC units that are cumbersome and are inaccurate right out of the box.
This compact unit is so easy to use and it is accurate. I blow 0.00 and its right and if I have a couple of drinks I can blow multiple times in a short period and the reading is the same.
Keep in mind this is a novelty if you blow 0.05 and drive you are taking a huge risk as you could be DWAI in many states and in fact you may not have fully absorbed all of the booze you drank and my be over the limit. Telling the cop or judge your personal unit said you were 0.05 won't keep you out of Jail.
How I use it is to help me guage how much my BAC is per drink and actually to have some fun at parties (in my house with no driving) to have people guess their BAC or to guess who has the highest BAC.
Similar units from this company I have seen in other stores for over $50 so even at full price of about 30 at BB it is still a good price. I'm thinking of buying one for a friend.
I would recommend this to a friend!

At first when I saw the price I was scared off but after doing research I decided to take a chance. This was my first ASUS I used to buy the "big name" networking companies products for years. I have to tell you on Performance, ease of use, range and design this router kicks butt.
I have a large home with 7 people who all have multiple devices, and xbox one, xbox 360 added in. I travel so I use a My Cloud drive that I access remotely. My old D-Link was a higher end N router DIR-6xx and it would lock up and disconnect users at random times. I knew it was time to upgrade.
Since I used the same router name and security key from the old router setting up the new one was the fastest ever. The reason for this was so that every user did not have to set a new network name and enter the key again. The features are so flexible, the speed is so fast and in the bedroom on the 3rd floor away from the router I can easily us my chromecast and tablet to stream movies where I could not even connect with the old on. As I continue to upgrade my equipment I will see even faster speed because I will add more AC access points or technology with it.
This is a long term investment for me If I can keep this unit for 5 + years it is worth the initial sticker shock.
Besides price the only Con's are that you do have to tweak / play with the antenna angles to obtain optimum coverage. Since its winter I will have to tweak again in summer so it reaches the yard and pool areas.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Is this suitable for Verizon Fios?

Best way to find out is to go to Verizon website or to call them. They have a list of equipment that is compatible. Actually almost every major ISP has a list of compatible equipment.

can this support wifi calling, and/or be used as an wifi extender

Wi Fi calling support is more relative to your phone carrier / app you are using and not the specific wireless router.

Most mode3rn routers can handle Wi-Fi calling. Your limitations on the quality of speed and signal are a product of your ISP (i.e. Roadrunner, FIOS, DSL) as this unit is blazing fast wired and wireless but if you have a slower cable or dsl connection any new router will not make it faster.

If you do high bandwith uses you really should upgrade your speed. I have a lot of users, VOIP and gaming and video so I pay my service provider for enhanced speed up and down. Once I maxed out the capability of my old D-Link DIR router then I upgraded to this router because my problem was clearly internal to my home and not my ISP. Start there first before buying new equipment.
