I have a Chromecast which I love using in the bedroom. When I bought this, I was looking at all the different ones for use in the family room and guest room. I am glad I took the ROKU 3. It has many channels to choose from. I use HuluPlus which allows us to catch up on shows we missed, and also on old shows I remember from my younger days. It also has the channels for the kids. It is a great device, but check the others also. Amazon is on this and on the Amazon Firestick. I wish I would have waited for the upgraded ROKU 3, which will feature a voice search, built into the remote. The only thing that would make this better is if they would upgrade the firmware to access captive portal (so it can be used at resorts and hotels that require a web logon to use the internet). The ROKU 3 is great and easy to use. If you are looking for a video streamer for around the home, this is worth a try.

I purchased Chromecast to be able to watch shows on my bedroom tv, which does not have a full cable box, only a basic adaptor. It works great. I control it using my phone. I thought it ran from the phone, but it doesn't, the phone is used to pick the show or movie, then when you hit the cast icon, the Chromecast runs the show. You only need your phone to pause or stop it. It does not use up your battery, as the only time the phone stays connected, is if you are casting something directly from the phone, such as pictures, video on the phone or web content (this is when your phone battery is used). I am going to try using it when I am on vacation.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This movie is a great addition to the Avengers collection. It is great alone, but it is best viewed as a step to the Avengers.

I have xfinity 1 platform, can i view xfinity tv on the googlechrome with the xfinity app?

Not directly. I use the Chromecast app to mirror my phone screen to chromecast, it takes a minute to figure out the first time, but it works.Unfortunatally, it uses your phone battery, because you are running it from your phone doing it this way. I have the X1 system also.

Can you use roku if you have an older model TV

I have a older model TV with the white, red and yellow plugs connections; can I still connect the roku to this type of RCA floor model TV?
The ROKU 2, which is also very good, has the A/V connection you are looking for ( white, red, yellow). The ROKU 3 has HDMI only.

sports

can you get the sports that are airing on tv like nhl hockey and nascar racing
The Roku has many sports channels to add i.e.: Watch ESPN, MLB, NHL, NBA etc. You may need a subscription to these channels, as not all are free.
