For the last 4 years I have been using a Logetich G502 Proteus Core, and before that I used a SteelSeries mouse. All have been good mice. I really enjoyed my G502, but I was wanting something new for a few reasons, being I wanted a different shaped mouse, the scroll wheel was slick for me and I'd frequently click the middle mouse wheel from side to side too often (which for me would change the DPI). I also found my cords were getting messy and I could always feel some drag with the cable and I wanted that to go away. I never really liked what was offered on the market because of the shortness of battery life or the shape.

When I saw this mouse, I was very excited to hear it got 250 hours of life on just a single AA battery! After using it a while now, I have to say I enjoy the shape and size (it's not too much smaller than my G502), and the lighter weight than my G502 is pretty nice too. The side buttons are easy to hit, and I like that it looks bland and boring. Fits my setup of a very nice keyboard with retro-90s keys and the black mouse from the 2000s. The sensor tracks very nicely, and I'd say (whether it's placebo or not), my accuracy has been better in many cases of using my mouse in both gaming and just plain clicking around the desktop.

So if you want a no-thrills mouse for gaming or whatever you do, that has an very accurate sensor and great battery life, this is the guy.

My one complaint: I don't game all the time, nor am I in Windows all the time (Linux user mainly). It would have been nice to have a switch on the mouse (maybe next to the power switch?) to switch the sensor into the mode with less response time. I don't need 1ms response all day, so it would be nice to have an easier way to go back and forth, especially for folks like me who can't get the Logitech software for our daily OS

For the price, the hardware for this laptop is good quality compared to the similarly priced laptops. The battery life is good and it isn't a total slug thanks to the flash memory (even though eMMC isn't super fast, still beats a spinning platter). The Atom processors aren't the fastest but I like the compromise. Good power efficiency at the cost of performance. This unit was for my dead, but looking at his makes me want one myself because it's cost efficient and has a good battery life.
Before we used it though we made sure to remove the spyware, I mean, Windows 10 from it and installed Fedora 23 XFCE on it. I'm happy to say that everything worked out of the box except the volume buttons didn't seem to work, which I found odd because you can adjust the volume in alsamixer. Point being, this makes a great budget Linux laptop! Installing was easy too. Very easy

I gave this laptop a 4/5 because the first one we got was totally bricked but the second one so far has been so good that I think it deserves 4 starts

I would recommend this to a friend!

It's Sandisk so it's hard to not get a good product. Almost all of my flash drives have been Sandisk and they have all been reliable. I got this one because it's cheap and I will be using it mainly for Linux and Windows installations. I would recommend looking into the USB 3.0 version though. 2.0 is slow and obsolete. I personally think that 2.0 should just die because we have USB 3.0 and now we have USB 3.1 coming out on some hardware.

will this LT run itunes? i only have about 28 gigs of music

It will, but because Windows is a fat pig you may be Very low on space in the end. Get a microSD card and put your iTunes library on that and just keep the microSD card in your computer at all times

can i use external HDD with this device?

do u think it is possible to add an eternal HHD to this device without slowing the system speed?

Best Answer

It won't run any slower with an external HDD. The only slowness you would experience is slower disk access to files on the external HDD. I wouldn't install any programs on it. What I would do is put in a microSD card for storage and use the built in storage for applications

Can I run external dual monitors from thsi laptop

The laptop has only one display adapter on it (HDMI) so if it were to work, you would have to daisy chain the monitors. I can't comment on whether or not that works. But you can dual monitor by using your laptop display and an external monitor!

Well you would have to look at using portable apps. But I would recommend against storing passwords on a flash drive unless you full disk encrypt the flash drive. I would recommend using KeePassX for your personal computers for storing passwords

down loaded music onto cruzer glide 8gb but will not play in car radio or stero but only on tv app

That's probably an issue with your car then, not the flash drive. Usually devices commonly support just MP3 or m4a so make sure it's one of those
