What's great about it: Excellent record keeping
What's not so great: there was a glitch
I really love my Basis band. It keeps track of things I don't. It points out areas so I can't lie to myself. I was astounded by how little sleep I got. Now I have no more excuses. It makes me very aware of where I succeed and where I need improvement. I would give it 4 1/2 stars, because it developed a glitch and had to be replaced. The support team at Basis was thorough and attentive and replaced it without a problem. The only things I wished were 1.) that Basis had a phone number one could find and then what took 3 or more days via email could have been solved in one hour-long conversation and 2.) that the band hadn't had a problem to begin with. I'd give the people who helped me 5 stars. Last but not least, Basis has some band options, but I wish they had more. After having used the replacement Basis, I might amend this review to a 5 star one. I have to wait and see.

Is it water proof? can I swim in the ocean with it?

No. It shows some water resistance, but I would never take it into the ocean, a pool, etc. I don't even like take it into a shower.
