I'll be brief. Perfect size, with just enough memory and speed to work fast and stay fast, even with multiple apps running. Excellent battery life. I use it all through the day, and still only have to charge it every two days. Yes, it only has 8G internal storage, but given you can move apps to external storage without having to root it, it's not that much of an issue. Highly recommended!

Out of the box, is only 4.69 gb of the listed 8 gb capacity normal?

This is the space available when I turned it on. I realize that OS and apps take up some space but this seems like a lot.
Yes, because of system software. If you go to the General tab under settings, then tap Storage, you can see where the memory is being used. It's also a good idea to tap the application cache to clear it once a day or so.

Does samsung tab 47.0 use SIM card?

The WiFi version that I have does not.
