I won’t name the brand, but my 3- or 4-year-old 10-inch tab was getting a bit sluggish – long in the tooth, as they say. Good grief, how far this technology has come in such a short time!
I thought an 8-inch would be a good compromise between a 10- and 7-incher (I use it mostly for surfing the Web and reading in bed.) I was right. What really blew me away is how *fast* this thing is, beginning with boot up and continuing with games, Web pages, Kindle, and on and on. It is dramatically peppier than my old tab. Plus, it isn’t overloaded with bloatware, so there’s plenty of available storage space.
This light, pretty little Acer is precariously close to no-name territory in terms of price, but just totally exudes quality. This is clear the moment you open the neatly packed box. It took me all of two minutes to get it up and running.
The downside? There isn’t much of one. I haven’t noticed the audio problems that others have mentioned, but I do wish the speaker had been placed differently. Battery life seems average, but average is just fine for me.
Overall, particularly at this price, I can’t conceive of going wrong.

Had to buy this in a pinch. The guy showed me where it was, I paid the nice price, got it home, and it worked perfectly. I imagine that a genuine Apple cable would have cost beaucoups bucks.
For the most part, I have had terrific luck with the Insignia brand.

For only eight bucks more, this one is light years ahead of the flimsy little Insignia (which I had to swap out).
All works well here....loud and clear on both ends and really quite comfy. Works beautifully with Skype. It's a bit bass-heavy with my phone, but that could be a phone issue.
In all, you won't beat this for the price.

Sharp is a good, reliable brand, and this one came with an attractive price tag. It replaces an all-black model, and the strainless-steel face is a nice change of pace.
Some have complained about the buttons being hard to see, and I agree. But I don't agree with the complaints about the light. Having the light NOT come on when you open the door is a good feature. It saves bulbs and energy, and lets you leave the door open to air out any lingering odors.

It was time to upgrade from my 7-year-old, workhorse Sony Bravia 46. I know that Vizio has come a long way in quality and, obviously, the price for this was excellent.
It delivers just what is promised ... a big, bright, sharp, often dazzling picture. Setup was a breeze; just be careful that you have a clean, flat surface and an able helper.
Having access to apps without using my BluRay is very convenient. Haven't had a problem with any, and my Time Warner network always displays maximum bars.
At first, I wasn't so sure about the picture. You can read infinite recommendations about ideal settings. The standard or normal setting is terrible. Most agree to use "calibrated," which I did. The display was OK, not great. Then a firmware upgrade came through and voila! The picture on the calibrated preset is stunning.
Yes, some of the caveats are true. The remote is unlighted and very small. That's what Harmony units are for. The sound isn't a strong point. I added the Vizio S4220W-E4 soundbar, and it's wonderful. The base indeed is kinda wobbly; so don't wobble it!
I would definitely recommend this TV overall. You can spend a lot more, but there's a point of diminishing returns on this kind of product. I'm actually thinking of swapping it out for the 60-inch model.

What can you say? Plug it in and you magically have a monstrous amount of extra storage.
I'm not in love with the software that comes with WD drives, but it can be helpful for some. I'm a drag-and-drop guy, and I now have one more redundant backup of important files as well as (for the first time) a complete system image.
If I had to nitpick.........yes..........the cord is kinda short.
Overall, this is obviously a quality product. Research will show that most prefer WD drives over Seagate. Nice price on this, too.

I've had my cheapie HP printer ($39) for about a year and a half. It has worked nearly flawlessly. The problem with inkjet printers, of course, is INK. It is incredibly expensive.
The 61's are no better and no worse than ink from comparable companies; in fact, they might be a tad more cost-effective. I've never had a problem with the quality of the new cartridges.
So onward I print.

These are about as good as it gets at such a price point. My son goes through ear buds with an astonishing rapidity. We have taken one pair of these back for a (cheerful) replacement.
That being said, he loves the sound, and they seem to be about as well-made as anything we've tried for these bucks.

I think the vegetable analogy is a good one. Either you like the Klipsch sound or you don't. There's really no in between.
I have gone through more speakers than I'd care to count. Most recently, I have enjoyed the little Pioneers that have gotten so much attention in the audio press. But my previous speakers were Klipsch RB-5s, and I found myself longing for them.
The Pioneers are well-balanced; the presentation is quite straight. What's missing is what Klipsch horn technology provides, and that's air. As soon as I hooked these little guys up, I heard (even felt# air. Listening to classical music, I can hear air around the instruments. With the excellent soundstaging, I can tell how close the clarinet players are sitting to one another.
Yes, the Klipsch sound is a forward, bright one #but not at all shrill, at least to my ears). It's a sound that's definitely not to everyone's taste. It's anything but dull. But regardless of the type of music you listen to, these speakers will draw, and keep, your attention.
Note that bass response is really pretty minimal. You'll want to complement them with a subwoofer for serious music listening and movie watching.
These particular Icons are nothing special to look at, but they seem very well-built, and they were beautifully packed.
At this price, you just can't go wrong. But be prepared for a different sound than you're probably used to.

no. vizio does, however, offer a step-up remote with a full keyboard on the back.

TV Wobbly
I assembled the TV and it seems very unsecure on the stand. It is very wobbly. Has anyone else had this issue? This is my 2nd 55" Vizio and I do not have this problem with my other one.
it is a bit wobbly. make sure you tighten all the screws. I simply never touch mine; I don't fear that it's going to fall over or anything.

Does the Vizio E5501-B2 have a sleep timer? which is the newer model the E550i-B2or the E5501-AO?
yes. and I believe the B2 is the newer.
