will this work for my situation?

Our router is downstairs on the other end of a 2000 sq ft house. My All-in-One computer is upstairs in bedroom at opposite end of house. Mediacom is our provider. Will the Netgear Range Extender work for me at the same speed as the wired computer downstairs? And where shall the range extender be placed? Upstairs or downstairs? Closer to router or All-in-one? Thanks, Joanne
You have a situation similar to mine, but my router is centrally located and i am trying to boos one end upstairs. I would not reccomend this booster
