What's great about it: Impressive sound with a low size profile

What's not so great: Price, wire clutter and inflexible proprietary technology

I find that Bose over-engineers their speaker system. They take the sound from my superb Yamaha receiver and modify it seeking to make something out of very small speakers that exceeds their inherent capabilities. The proprietary wiring system is admirably simplified but in attempting to fit a wide range of user installations, there is too much leftover wire and you can't cut it down. Nevertheless, a lot of audio/video enthusiasts will find the systems compact profile, bright highs and powerful lows very suitable. I recommend audio buyers not overlook the Bose systems, they may be your best solution. PS: I heartily recommend Best Buy as a source for quality sound products.

Would this system work well in a larger size living room like 14 x 20 space ? also high ceilings, 14ft ?

Would this system work well in a large size living room, 14 x 20 with a slanted ceiling going up from 8ft to 14 ft ?

I have my A10 and Yamaha Receiver in a 20 X 20 foot high ceiling room and they provide the complete dynamic range from a harp solo to a profootball game that puts you right in the stadium.

I have an acoustimass 10 series and I lost all the wires for the subwoofer and speakers. What should I do?

I lost the cable connecting the subwoofer to the receiver and it looks like this is a proprietary cable that I can't find anywhere. Also, the speaker wires need a plug to connect to the subwoofer and it looks like regular cable wires with banana plugs would not work in this case. I thought it would be simple and I would be able to get better cables than the ones that came in the Bose package.

Ouch! You have to contact Bose for replacements. See your in-box address list or use Google or Bing to find the correct address.

what is the best reciever fro the bose acoustimass 10 iv?

so far my choices are....

which one would give me the best most powerfull sound? for movies and music. or if you have any suggestions id like to hear. can all 5 speaker take up to 200 watts?

Is it worth buying some branded wire to substitute the wire coming in the box of the acoustimass 10?

IMHO, no it is not worth buying some "branded wire." BOSE has provided quality components. In addition, they have a proprietary connector taking the receiver output into the Acoustimass 10 module that will be nearly impossible to replicate.

How can I configure Bose acoustimass 10 as 7.1 system? Which specific bose additional speakers I have to buy and how I connect them?

As they say, "It is what it is." The A10 is a 5.1 system and is not configured to adapt to additional channels of output. You could add two speakers by splicing into the left and right side speakers but that would be risky given Bose proprietary technology. And you really don't gain anything but bragging rights for having so many speakers. Your receiver and the A10 system will deliver everything a 7.1 speakers do including perceived positional sound sourcing. Don't mess with a good thing.

Can I use my pre-wired 16 gauge RCA speaker wires with Bose Acoustimass 10 Series IV system?

the home i bought has existing pre-wiring with RCA 16 gauge speaker wires. Can I reuse the same wires to install the Acoustimass 10 Series IV system?

Wires are wires. The 16 gauge wires are of adequate capacity. Maintaining polarity consistently from each speaker is very important and may be a bit challenging. It is important that each speaker be connected to its position identified input on the Acoustimass module. This should be accomplished while using the Owner's Guide. The whole procedure is probably best suited for someone experienced in wiring high fildelity systems. It is very important that no speakers are wired directly to your audio receiver.

Can I substitute the center speaker in the Acoustimass 10 for a Boston Acoustics VR 920

Will it effect quality of sound

Caution: BOSE uses proprietary technology. Don't hookup speakers that did not come with the system before checking with BOSE or other trusted sources. The Acoustimass module has signal processing systems which may require a specific resistance from each speaker. They do not reveal that in their Owner's Guide. I would recommend you query BOSE directly, continue to monitor this forum or look to a search engine like Google or perhaps you can find an answer on Facebook.

Subwoofer LFE connection to yamaha RX-V673 receiver

Hi, How can i connect Subwoofer LFE connection to yamaha RX-V673 receiver? Does this require any special converter to convert the single lfe output to the 2 pre-out inputs on the receiver?

"The single RCA connector at that end is for use ONLY with a receiver that handles low-frequency effects and provides an LFE/SUBWOOFER jack." This is from BOSE owner's guide. For the Yamaha RX-V673 receiver do a Google search for Yamaha RX-V673 receiver manual.
