Reviews gave this super ratings and I agree now that I've used it several times. It's smarter than I am and has many "extras" that I may use over time. I use it simply to record interviews so far and it's picks up the voices very well without alteration. In a restaurant it also picks up dishes and glassware noise and other tables' voices, so I've learned to go to quieter venues. Easy to use, listen to, recharge. Small and inconspicuous s it doesn't distract the interviewee. I like it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have the Sony IC recorder transcriber..can you get foot pedal for transcription typing to go with it??

Does this unit have silence skip?

The manual on the internet says it has voice activation. Is that what you mean?

Specifications for this model says built in rechargeable battery and then it also states battery AAA. My question is, does it have both options?

Regarding Model Sony ICD UX 533 BLK voice recorder. So, in addition to my question here, one can also opt to use the AAA battery instead?
One model has a rechargeable battery and the other model uses a simple AAA.

WHAT SIZE CARDS ARE AVAILABLE?

Memory card size available for Sony Digital recorder model ICDUX533
I don't recall. The Sony says it can take 1000 hours and I haven't hit that yet. There's an online instruction manual that gives lots more info that I can remember---it's very helpful--and states what size chip/card it takes. It's a small one, I know.

can you download what you recorded and put it on a word document

after you have recorded a lecture, can you plug in the recorder on your pc and down load the recorded lecture on to a word document.
I haven't tried that. You can download it onto your computer, I know. On the internet I found in my initial search a gadget made by Dragon that had great reviews for taking the words on this type of machine and transcribing directly into a document with "96%" accuracy. Dragon's reviews were excellent and I may spring for one at some point. I haven't yet because I don't need it....yet.
