In my Toyota Corolla, there is only one place this would fit in the vent vertically. I placed it there and it works great. It places my phone at a good position to view Google maps navigation while driving without taking eyes off road for very long. Only problem I have is the release button is finicky - I have to press it several times until it catches. I can live with that and am satified with its performance.

This was my only choice for thermal paste since I needed it and couldn't find it anywhere else locally. It did what it was supposed to. I did not have any problems with it. But then, I don't use thermal compound every day.

Yes. It is the usb 3 cable which is what the s5 uses.

how well isolated are the computers

I have 2 Win 7 computers. If one is asleep (64-bit), the other (32-bit) has problems with the mouse. Pointer jumps and flickers, keyboard auto-repeats without limit. I have to keep waking up the 64-bit computer so I can use the 32-bit one. Is IOGEAR any better at isolating the two computers?
I have it plugged into 2 computers but use one most of the time so the other one sleeps and the suspends. I have not seen the problem you are describing.

extra cables

Do I need to have any extra cables to connect to the switch or to the PC?
No. The device has cables to connect to monitor and 2 uses for each computer. You then connect your monitor mouse and keyboard to the switch device. Pushing the button switches between computers.

I have 2 computers. I want to be able to have 1 computer run 2 monitors, with out going to the back and unplugging the monitor.

This product only connects one monitor, mouse and keyboard to two computers. You need something else to connect two monitors to one computer.
