In my small home this provides enough horsepower to run several devices at the same time. I am please with the router and like the dual band feature. Easy set up and good to use.

I recently switched to MacBook from WINDOWS PC. Have a lot of experience with Office on that platform. So far have found no problems with Mac version. Switch was seamless.

Do i have to have Enternet service at all in order for this router to work?

I believe it must be connected to the internet some how. You can use it for wireless connections only if you want.

Can the wireless functions be disabled to use only a wired connection?

You can choose either ethernet wired connection or wireless. Works well both ways. I usually use the wired ethernet with my laptop.
