Does this tablet have good tight connections?
Are the ports secure connections. My Lenovo connections were kind of loose
You should be using the original charger. Most people jam the cord right in or jerk it out. Think of it as an important investment. Be careful and it will last a long time.

can i record video directly to a usb flash drive?
I'd like to record video to a usb flash drive. Is this possible?
Yes. With a usb adapter cable made from Samsung. It's white. Usually costs $20.

Will it have built in gps independent of wifi?
No gps needs to work over wifi, or tie in to a Hotspot or tethering to a cell phone where the Hotspot is activated.

is it unlocked? or does it come pre installed with some company's ROM(Verizon,ATT Etc..)?
No these are wifi tablets only. Carrier tablets would have to be requested at specific store, removable sims and unlocking questions.
