I bought this to avoid paying Time Warner a monthly rental fee. It was on their list of recommended cable modems/routers. I connected to Time Warner and have been able to connect a Windows machine and a Mac. Plus, running these devices plus 2 iPhones with the wireless.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This was for an iPhone 5 but is discontinued 8 months later. And, Best Buy wouldn't let me exchange it for another 5 case of a different color.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Do you need to call Time Warner to give MAC address information to set it up or can you simply screw in the co axial cable and ethernet cable and enter the password to be up and running?

You have to call Time Warner.

I have read several reviews that said that this is a great product...very fast but the wi-fi sucks. Is that a true statement?

No, they don't have this case. I tried to recently return one for a different color and was told that Best Buy no longer carries it. I bought it WAY back in December. OMG this is a long time for a computer-related thing.
