Excellent Fridge, with a gimmick

I went into Best Buy looking for a large-capacity side-by-side unit and ended up with a french-door, WiFi-connected model. I first laughed at the need to include a WiFi connection in a fridge, but changed my mind when offered an approximate 45% discount off retail pricing for an "open-box" unit. The original purchaser returned it for another model and I was the beneficiary of the return. All in all, it's a very good model, though I've had for only a month. It has lots of capacity, excellent LED lighting, seems quite quiet and has long warranties for certain parts (like 10 years on the inverter compressor). The WiFi connection and associated display is essentially a gimmick, and a number of features will only work if you own another Samsung/Android product. However, I received such a great discount, this feature, though somewhat useless, was essentially "free". One cautionary note relative to the middle refrigerated "drawer" just above the bottom freezer compartment. It's way too easy to forget something is stored there, so I would suggest using it for sealed products with long shelf-lives (such as soda, wine, beer, yogurts, applesauce/mixed fruit containers for kids' lunches, etc.). It's way too early to determine whether this was a solid purchase, but I also bought a relatively inexpensive Geek Squad 5-year policy to cover any needed repairs. I rarely buy extended warranties, but became more paranoid after my very expensive Electrolux side-by-side completely died at 5.5 years of service, necessitating this purchase. Kudos to the Best Buy delivery folks who hooked up my water supply/ice-maker connection, configured the WiFi and gave me a quick product tour. Also, thanks to the Geek Squad who came out shortly after installation to replace the mangled plastic rollers on the bottom of the unit that allow it to slide in and out of the fridge compartment in my kitchen.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Waterline Kit

We already have a working thru-the-door ice and water dispenser refrigerator, but are looking to upgrade. Would we need to purchase a new waterline kit or would we be able to utilize our existing hardware?
I'm pretty sure you don't need the extra kit. My old Electrolux fridge had a water line connection for through-the-door water and ice. Simply turn off the water to the copper or plastic tubing going to the fridge (I found my shut-off valve under the kitchen sink) and hook up the line to the included plastic water line on the back of this unit. The Best Buy delivery guys did the hook-up in about 30 seconds, using only a crescent wrench to tighten the connection. I had exactly the same question and I don't think you'll have any problem.
