I thought this was a pay-as-you-go phone... but it turns out you have to pay $50 a month.

Ummm.. It's Ok. No bells and whistles but it suits my needs. Protects the screen from dust, debris, and scratches when the case cover is closed. Lightweight protection, which allows me to use the phone comfortably, as a handset, and talk without my headphones. Handling the phone to text, while the case cover is open, is tricky but not impossible.
I have dropped my phone several times and feel the case protected the phone from damage. However, I have damaged both corners of the case (left hand side), so I recommend it only for protection against light "mishaps".
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Before purchasing, I read a ton of reviews before giving this one a try... Let's just say I loved it so much, I ended up buying another. I keep one in my bedroom and another in my family room. The rich sound absolutely fills the room.
I do wish it allowed for an aux cable connection and that there was a way to tell when the battery is running low. Otherwise, I am completely happy.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Is green light supposed to be solid or go off after a few seconds?

The battery is new but the green light still goes off after a few seconds and never comes back on unless I turn it off and restart it. Is this defective?
It looks like it goes out after turning it on. It should hold a solid red light when the battery needs to be replaced.
