What's great about it: Battery life, ease of use, price, thin, stylish.
What's not so great: No flash, reliant on internet, no Netflix (promised by Netflix and Google eventually).
I love my Chromebook. My brother bought my mother, a teacher, the Acer Chromebook, and it appeared to be perfect for note taking. For lots of techie reasons I purchased this Samsung one instead. After showing it to my 85 year old grandmother who had given up on the internet 10 years ago, she wanted one (she chose it over the iPad that was offered to her). My mother gave her the Acer, and got the Samsung.
I use mine for note taking (I never brush the touchpad), and the battery easily lasts 4-6 hours, while taking less time to charge than my phone. Screen is crisp and clear. Updates take moments. It's ultra lightweight. The longest boot time was 7 seconds. The drawback, of course, is that you can't really install programs, so this is for Powerpoint and other documents, as well as social media, email, and procrastination games online. Lastly, Netflix and Google have been negotiating streaming on Chromebooks. Haven't heard an update about that in awhile, but I have faith.
This product is... A touch pad that works great, Perfect for Business, A nice compact size, easy to set up, lightning fast
About me... Student, Technology guru, Gamer
I would recommend this to a friend!

cloud storage

so the 100gb of cloud storage disappears after 2 years and we wont be able to upload or save any new files to the computer unless we pay for an upgrade?
Personally, I can't imagine using up the 16gb internal hard drive. But to your actual question: After 2 years you will have 5gb google drive (I think. It's between 5 and 20), plus a few gb for docs, and a couple for email. I'm not worried about it whatsoever.

Are all the games available for download in the chrome store able to run on the chromebook because it seems that some are not compatible?

Simply put; you are correct! There really should be an indicator about compatibility.

Can you play games like Minecraft on this laptop?

I was hoping I could use the chrome-book for games such as minecraft or sim city. That is all I would use the thing for and I was wondering if these games are compatible.
Unfortunately no; Java is not supported. You can't install games, and in browser Minecraft still uses Java. There are many in browser game sites that do work, and many that don't work.
Source: First thing I tried to do after unboxing was Minecraft.

It is worth noting that the Google Web Store is kind of tricky because although Minecraft is available, it just takes you to the in browser version. Being on Google Web Store doesn't guarantee Chromebook compatibility.

Can you save your Google Docs in rtf (Rich text format)?

I need to be able to save my school work in rich text format (rtf) to send them in. Does Google Docs allow you to save your papers in rich text format like you can in Word?
Yes! Also, you don't need a Chromebook to use Google Docs. Try it for yourself!
