What's great about it: great way to get ethernet connection when no ethernet port exists
What's not so great: the adapter "box" sometimes gets in the way
At a very reasonable price, this unit made it possible to create an ethernet connection for a laptop so internet access was possible in an area of the house where wifi could not reach. Works perfectly!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Gateway netbook w/ only USB ports. House wired w/ethernet outlets for internet thru DSL
Yes, works perfectly for this application. I run wifi through home electrical system and use this adapter to connect ethernet cable to my chromebook
