The concept of the Vivosmart is excellent! Not only does it function as a fitness and sleep monitor, but it notifies its user of incoming calls/texts/etc. with a simple vibration. Unfortunately, the screen does not show well in the sunlight, and the Bluetooth on my Vivosmart stopped working after a couple months. I went online and followed Garmin's instructions to correct the problem, thought I fixed the problem, but it quit again after 5 minutes. I took the band back and exchanged it for another Vivosmart, and had the same problem after a few months (if you're wandering, I checked to make sure the Bluetooth on my phone was operating properly, and it was). I was very disappointed -- it was an excellent concept!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The band is more comfortable than a standard watch and the various functions are very helpful. In particular, the alerts for incoming calls/texts/aps/alarms are great. The only downside is the screen visibility in bright sunlight.
I would recommend this to a friend!

How does it recharge?

The description says it has rechargable batteries but the "What's included" only shows the band and a manual but no cable. So how do you recharge it?
It comes with a cable for recharging.

can you change the colors?

Can I purchase additional inner band colors? I want to be able to wear this at work (black) and on the weekends (purple).
sorry, Charlie, but the inner band is firmly attached, so I don't believe it is changeable.

Does the Vivosmart with heart rate monitoring require a seperate strap/band or do you still have just the Vivosmart tracker only

To use the Vivosmart as a heartrate monior you need the separate strap (they sell the Vivosmart with or without the strap -- and of course charge you a bit more for the one with the strap).
