Charges good and is a great indication of charge level for devices without a battery bar. Only issue is that it makes a very high pitched and somewhat loud noise while it's charging

What's great about it: Ease of use, Great picture, Flawless in almost every way
What's not so great: It sadly won't use some kind of wifi direct feature
This is the future people. Gone are the days of clumsy visual aids and low quality video streaming to TVs. I use this in my car and my HDTV at home. Works like a charm. My only complaint is that it requires a seperate wifi connection. Which is probably fine for most people, but when your wifi at home is rather lackluster and your phone's 4G is faster, it would be more convenient to use the phone alone as some form of direct wifi port. Something like that needs to be implemented and then I will consider this the best 35 dollars I've ever spent

How does your $249.95 compare to the Apple smartphone? Does it do all the same things ? Need to know before making a decision .
It should be capable of doing exactly the same things and you might notice it's features are fancier than any apple product if you pulled a side by side comparison

How do I hook this up to a projection TV run through a Receiver?

Well, that really depends on what kind of receiver that we're talking about here. Does your device have a HDMI port as input? Some more details would be much more helpful...
