I have used many Bluetooth earpieces over the years and have been disappointed with most of the the models. Common issues with Bluetooth earpieces include poor earpiece volume quality/control (too high or too low, poor adjustment, etc.) low quality microphone, and inconsistent connectivity to devices, BUT those issues are absent here. I have an Apple i5 with v8 ios, and the Motorola Boom is perfect. Set up is very easy, once the Boom is charged, you'll have +6 hours of talk time, and more than a couple days of standby even with 2-3 hours of use. The Boom also comes with several earpiece choices; over-ear, on-ear, and an in-ear option that is surprisingly stable and comfortable, and comes in multiple sizes included in the box.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Is there any way I can get Caller ID announcing the caller's name INSTEAD of the caller's phone number with the Motorola Boom?
While the quality of the Motorola Boom is superior, my only complaint is that the caller ID is number only.

Can one use this device WITHOUT an earhook and will it stay secure in ear without popping out?
Yes. The Motorola Boom comes with an in-ear option that is not a typical bud-type earpiece. There's a small/medium lip with an earlobe loop that fits on the inside of the earlobe. I prefer this earpiece option because it is light, comfortable, and stable.

how to get 300ft range from motorola boom
I work in a 3-story 60,000+ sq. ft. building. The construction is medium-quality commercial grade consisting mostly of wood beam framing. The scenario in my case is that I was telling a friend about my Motorola Boom when I flipped the boom and placed it in my ear. As I was talking to my friend, the Boom rang, so I took the call. To my surprise, my iPhone 5 was in my car, three floors down and 200+ feet away! In less spectacular fashion, I commonly use the earpiece in my backyard with the phone 60-100 feet away.
