What can I say? This is an Amazon Dot. Great as an add-on to your Amazon Echo or other. I have these in each room and now the garage to turn on lights, close the garage, etc.

What's great about it: All the power of a "REAL" Windows 8.1 machine!
What's not so great: Heavier than a conventional tablet
I use this to do CAD work, generate tool paths and run a CNC machine. It works as well as any dedicated PC and runs all my Windows 8.1 software.
Took it on a business trip and it was on non-stop for nearly 5 hours and connected wirelessly to Alaska Airline's Go-Go internet service. I landed with 2+ hours of battery left.
It really earned it's keep. It's my go-to laptop now.

Is the type 2 cover compatible with the original Surface pro?
Yes. I believe it is the same. It's got a great feel and is backlit. Even the mouse touch pad works well.

compatibility with non microsoft
does it work with the lenovo miix 2 tablet, galaxy tab 3 or other tablets?
No. It's for the Microsoft Surface 2 only.
