Works great at a good price. Especially like that the user can reconfigure for left handed use; the receiver stores inside the battery compartment for travel, and the forward/back buttons on the side of the mouse.

Provides 2 bands - ideally with one for streaming and gaming at the faster 5GHz, and the other, at about half that speed for regular surfing, etc., - your choice. Works good, but as others have pointed out, during set-up, every time you make a change, the router resets to save and re-write new configuration - which takes time. Sales person said that some buyers have complained that it periodically loses connection with internet so must be reset. Belkin has added a feature called "Self-Healing", where it can be set to automatically does a soft reboot once a week at a user-specified time/day. This is good, but unfortunately it looses connection with your modem, so it requires a modem reset to connect. Hopefully they will fix that in a firmware patch. The "Self-Healing" mode can be toggled off (which we did), and haven't had any issues with losing connectivity for over 3 weeks to date. Also good range on the lower band for going through walls.

Easy to use and configure built-in Seagate back-up software. And if you want to include COMPLETE system backup for full recovery, download their free 3rd party DiscWizard software and you can get back up and running quickly. It'll also help you create a bootable CD so it's much less painful than many other programs.

Do you need a modem besides Wifi router?

Do you need a modem besides a WiFi router?
Short answer: Yes.

Long answer: If you use cable, split the incoming signal, sending one to a cable box, and the other to a modem. The modem then connects to the router, and, depending if the cable signal also provides phone service, and the modem is equipped to decode telephony, the phone line is also connected to the modem output. Jacks on the back of the modem and instructions are easy to point you in the right direction as to which cords plug into which jacks.
