What's great about it: Extra usb ports are great
What's not so great: a little high, and the fans are a bit noisy
The fans on the chill mat make a constant hum, but I am used to that now. The height of the mat has changed the angle at which my arms are leaning, which may be a problem for folks who suffer from carpal tunnel syndrome. I like it especially for the extra usb ports on the back. I have a backup drive plugged into one of the two ports on my laptop, and the other port is hooked up to the chill mat, so if the mat didn't have extra ports, I'd be out of luck for a port for my mouse or any other accessories! The extra usb ports are great!

What's great about it: The split
What's not so great: Windows 8.1 is not supported by all software
When I bought the split, I was not sure I would use the screen separately as a tablet. However, it has proven to be very useful, most notably for showing photos to friends, and for continuing projects without interruption (I am much more likely to grab the screen and go continue working in another location than to pack up the entire laptop to continue working). The only negative was that some software does not yet support windows 8.1, such as my Seagate backup drive's dashboard. Not a problem since windows has it's own backup software that can just write to the drive.
This product is... A nice compact size, easy to set up, easily portable

where on hp split 2 in 1 is model number located as mine is not as the label on box it came in.

What is the total height the tray can go?
I would like to raise my keyboard and thought this might work since it is adjustable.
At the lowest level, the keyboard is 1.5 inches off of your main surface. The lift will change the angle of the keyboard, not just the height, so the bottom of the keyboard will still only be 1.5 inches although the top (where the function keys are) could be at a greater height of your choice (the max is about 3.75 inches up).
