This trackball unit is amazing! it is comfortable in many different positions, and requires very little arm movement. For me that is great because my neck and right arm are injured and moving my arm a lot causes pain in my neck to worsen. The trackball is fast and responsive, although I found using it with USB 3 can be a problem, the communications becomes erratic and the mouse does not respond all the time, using USB 2 or USB 1 does not seem to be an issue. If your device does not come with legacy USB, this device may not be right for you.

We purchased this device because our old Sony had finally stopped working, we use it constantly and when it simply couldn't read discs any longer we went to purchase the latest Sony device. The store did not have any of the new Sonys that could communicate over 5Mhz wifi. So we bought this one, it is constantly shutting down erratically, when watching movies stored on our network, when it can no longer keep a connection (other devices are not losing the same connection), the movie continues to play, but a message pops up to check the connection; click OK and your movie stops, if you leave it alone, sometimes the movie will continue and the message goes away, but other times it will stop, you can immediately start from the beginning, indicating that you are still connected to the network, but you cannot go back to where you were in the movie without having to start at the beginning and use their 1x 2x 3x fast forward, which you get to by the navigation buttons on the remote, pressing down to bring up the play-pause-stop-ff-fb controls, and then you can navigate to the fast forward, pause, play, etc button, then press the center button to activate the button, to play again, you have to navigate to the play button and then press it. Why they did not use the built in controls for the DVD player for these controls is beyond me. Further the unit actually turns itself off and back on, no warnings, just shuts off. I have figured out that this is most likely a memory issue. the software is tying up device memory, and when the memory is being reported as full, the device resets. Instead of having their programmers clean up the memory, they reset the unit. The longer the unit is on, the more memory is tied up, and not released through what is known as garbage collecting. Many modern programmers are not being taught that just because Windows has a great garbage collection process that is generally invisible to programmers and users alike, other systems like Linux and the free versions provided to manufacturers like this, do not clean up memory on their own, the software writers have to release memory used by variables in their programs. Classes cause the creation of unique items, old programming methods would use a variable, say myMovie to store a movie, putting another movie in that variable would simply re-use the same memory, adjusting the length depending on the movie stored. But with classes, each Class item myMovie, starts using memory at a brand new location. So, you watch movie one, two and three using variable style programming and the loss of memory is only that which was used by the largest of the three movies, but using the Class-Object method, now the memory for all three movies is used up and, you want to watch movie number four, you get half way through, and boom, the device is turning itself off, because it has run out of memory. If the programmer had told the system that the memory from movies 1,2 and 3 was now free for using, there would be no problem, and If we turn the device off once a day,(which resets the amount of memory used to 0) it does not shut down, but if it is on and used, for a long time, especially downloading movies, then it will simply restart when memory is used up. Also, using it to navigate our own digital library of movies is cumbersome, first I have to select Digital Media, then the device that stores our videos, then for some reason I have to select Videos, Videos, then Videos by location, then I can view my movies, There is no clear reason that the first time I select Video leads to the options to select Photos, Audio, Video again, and I have tested this, if you select Audio, then Video, then it tells you there are no Audio files available to play, or if you select Video, then Audio, and navigate to music, it reports there are no Video files to play, so why are there two sets of selecting Photo, Audio, Video? Samsung used to be a reputable company, but lately I have been experiencing bad luck with their newest products.

What's great about it: Adjustable making it easy to access ports and tilt based on glare
This unit supports my 70 inch flat screen, the tilting allows me to position it so that glare from the setting sun in directed away from my eyes making viewing much more enjoyable. Also reaching the many different ports is a snap, I have a surround sound system, laptop, 3D blueray and iPod connected and they are all phenomenal. And as I upgrade each component and cable, the tilt makes swap outs a breeze!

Cobra - CDR895D Full HD Front and Rear Camera Dash Cam - Black
Cobra - CDR895D Full HD Front and Rear Camera Dash Cam - Black
Capture images from your vehicle dashboard with this Cobra dual-channel dash camera. Continuous-loop recording and a G-sensor ensure optimal video capture, and a 2-inch LCD screen with ultrawide viewing angles lets you monitor the feed from multiple locations in the car. This Cobra dual-channel dash camera helps you record details while driving or during an accident.

I see that it shows date and time but does it record speed limit as well?

This was a gift for someone else, I don't use it personally, I doubt it though, it is not a GPS based device, that would cost more. You can only determine the speed limit if you are communicating with satellites that know your position. It does show the speed of your vehicle to those around it though, so that is a better indicator of someone traveling a SAFE SPEED compared to those around it. If you have video showing you were following the safest possible driving rules at the time of an incident speed it irrelevant.

have Logitech-m570 on Lenovo computer. windows 10 update not only good for 2.0 usb and won't work wit 3.0 usb

USB 3 actually produces a small radio interference, and some older communications devices are affected by those interferences, so using an older USB device can have issues with USB 3 ports. This is why most devices have USB 2 and USB 3 instead of just all USB 3 ports. You are likely to see USB 2 going away in the next five to ten years as devices are designed for the more effective and faster USB 3 protocols and later.

how long is the average life for one of these? I use mine for 8 hours a day at work (heavy spreadsheeting) and am going through one about every 3 years, which isn't bad, but i wondered what kind of useful life everyone else is getting. Thanks!

I have used these devices for over ten years, and I can tell you they are very dependable, comfortable and functional, the battery lasts over a year, I am on my computer more than eight hours a day off and on, and these things are workhorses. You do have to remove the ball and clean the three support bearings, and occasionally wash the ball in mild soapy water, but they last years.

Seagate - Momentus 500GB Internal Serial ATA Hard Drive for Laptops
Seagate - Momentus 500GB Internal Serial ATA Hard Drive for Laptops
Store your special photos, favorite tunes and important documents on this 500GB internal hard drive that features NCQ technology for increased performance.

Is this compatible for Asus laptop U56E-BBl6?

Most likely, when I checked for your computer online the specs show HDD (Hard Disc Drive) for the hard drive, which would indicate that it is not a SSD (Solid State Drive) the best thing to do is remove the hard drive and take it with you to the Best Buy and have them confirm it is compatible before you purchase it, Since the standard hard drive connector is SATA your drive and this drive are the same format and will interchange, as will many larger 1TB etc. A solid state drive is less storage, but is considerably faster and for all intents and purposes permanent. Solid state drives have no moving parts, they are exactly like SD cards, but much larger.
