Popped the headphones out of the box, hooked up the base station to the TV output, and away I went. The ON/OFF switch and the volume control are both easy to find as well as adjust. The only oddity is when they first turn on there is a delay of a few seconds so you think they didn't turn on. But once I knew that I don't even notice anymore.
The headphones are great for both your listening as well as keeping noise out.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: Great sound for the price
What's not so great: so-so bass
Looking for a replacement set of headphones. Wasn't willing to spend the money for the Bowers & Wilkins so I went to Best Buy to listen with several headphones. For the money they far surpassed the sound quality of similar priced headphones and many of the more expensive models.
Unless you are into, and willing to pay for, the absolute best these headphones are a great compromise.

can these be used on a desktop computer??

the computer has no blue tooth just want to listen to music such as youtube no games
Should not be an issue. You can either use the RCA jacks or the headphone output on your computer. You might have to adjust the computer volume level initially to get a reasonable range adjustment at the headsets themselves.
