Forgive my ignorance, but does sonos connect amp act as a speaker itself? Does it emit sound even if there are no external speakers connected yet?
The Amp connects to speakers. This allows you to use existing speakers with a sonos system. I have two amps powering in-wall speakers set up as separate zones. I even was able to add a wireless sonos sub to one of those zones. You are also able to input a line (from tv or other source) into the amp to be played on the attached pseakers or any other zone in your sonos wifi net.

I have my old ceiling speakers wired to a sono amp. Three of them. Can I add wireless sono speakers to this Sono amp. If yes? Do I need to buy any other equipment. Thank you
I think you can add sonos wirelss speakers to the zone that contains the inwall speakers. By doing that they should all function as one without any delay in the sound. I have inwall speakers in 2 of 4 zones and regular sonos 1 and 3 speakers in 2 other zones. I also have a sonos sub added to one of the zones with in wall speakers. This set up works perfectly in unison or any combination of zones.

I have a Bose surround sound speaker hooked to my tv when I play movies from tv is there any way I can get the tv sound to play through my Sonos 3
I am not sure about the Sonos 3. The Sonos Amp would work though. I used the line in function on the Amp to pipe the audio from my tv to a whole house system. I am able to play the audio from the tv through the amp and to the in-wall speakers left by the previous owner. It works perfectly. I juts added the sonos sub and itworks and sounds fantastic.
