I have the Nikon D3300 with the 18-55mm lens. I would like to get a lens that's better for taking close-ups of small objects, primarily insects and spiders. Is this the right lens for me?

This lens is amazing, but you will have to check to see if your camera is compatible with the lens. My camera is the Nikon d3100 and it does work. It'll be in your manual that came with the camera. If you don't have that, I believe there is a list on the Nikon website that says what lenses are compatible with what cameras. Hope this helps :)
